Founded in 2009, Brilig is the first cooperative data marketplace for online display advertising. Unlike other legacy data marketplaces or exchanges, Brilig data is sourced cooperatively and normalized from hundreds or even thousands of discrete databases — many of which have never been "connected" to digital display advertising. This crowd-sourced, "desiloification" of the world's data is completely unique to Brilig.
Brilig's cooperative marketplace was designed to enable buyers and sellers of data to trade the audience reach and relevance everyone wants at market-driven pricing - as well as the neutrality, transparency and control that's been completely absent.
Doing this hasn't been easy - it's required Brilig to de-silo thousands of databases and enable them to interoperate. It's also required that Brilig create an open market where any qualified buy or seller can participate - unlike the shadow markets or "dark pools" of data that exist across the industry today.
Buyers and sellers alike have embraced the Brilig platform. Our 100+ coop members include: Netmining, Videology, Accordant Media, Tapad, AdTheorent, IXI, Experian, Turn, LiveIntent, AOL, Aggregate Knowledge, Sony Game Show Network, Lotame, and Targeted Victory
As of October 15, 2011 the company has over 10,000+ segments listed on its cooperative marketplace, and processes over 300,000,000 requests daily.
While we are the pioneers, this is not about one company with the most data and the best analytics - we see this is a movement, a community approach to increasing the relevance and upside of digital marketing.
